About Viviana;

“Viviana is a Calgary based artist. Her passion for painting was reignited recently by attending a paint party. This is where she realized how much she loves art and painting; she had to get back into doing something passionate again. Using acrylic as her medium she creates stylistic paintings using very linear, bold, and, colourful strokes of paint on canvas.

As a child, she always loved colouring, and was good at drawing. Her friends often asked her to draw horses for them. In high school, she liked using acrylics for the majority of her art projects. She excelled in Art and Drama classes. She was accepted into the University of Manitoba Fine Arts Program in 1990. At the time, it was best for her family to move across the country, leaving her unable to pursue her opportunity for a fine arts degree, however she was able to study Graphic Design at Selkirk College, where she pursued this pathway for two years. Eventually finding this avenue obsolete due to the growing technology and accessibility of computer programs. For the next twenty years, she independently crafted and created with various other mediums. She successfully grew an etsy store selling scrapbook supplies and handcrafted repurposed leather flowers.

Fast forward to October 2016, feeling adventurous, she picked up an acrylic set of paints and brushes. Armed with a strong sense of entrepreneurship and desire for unobstructed personal expression, she launched a thriving art business to include workshops, art classes, Canvas pARTies, and commission work. She has pieces on display and available for purchase at Essential Living Design and Renovations Showroom, located at the 17th Avenue SW Animal Hospital. She recently became a resident at Motion Gallery.”
