Born and raised in Calgary, Curtis has always had an interest in the arts. . He was born with Spina Bifida and is confined to a wheelchair.
As a child, he spent much of his time during the winter season painting whiteware (kind of like ceramics without the kiln process), drawing and painting to pass the time. In the spring, summer and fall he would spend most of his time with his friends. He was always on the go doing something.
Curtis took art classes from the very beginning of grade school and ensured that he took it every year until he graduated High School. He learned the basics and fundamentals of art; such as shape, shadow, lighting, contrast, shading, colour theory etc.
Little did he realize that in 2012, when he bought a box of chisels for hand carving off Kijiji, which had a Razertip SSD-10 wood burning system in it, it would start off his career as the “Artist on Wheels”. After doing wood burns of many pets, animals and human portraits, Curtis expanded his artistic skills to include pencil drawings, coloured pencil drawings, pastel drawings and acrylic paintings.
He is currently a Director for New Motion Gallery in Calgary, AB.
